[ was going to add there's like no particularly danish bread other than rye, but google would make me a liar ]

Not even active salarymen do that kind of thing.

[ The serious response, despite it being clear she was at least partially teasing. He would have said "a useless thing like that", except given the conversation and Kugisaki's pursuit of lost cash, one could argue it had unexpected utility.

As for Fushiguro-kun, Nanami would have full confidence in his capacity to deadpan. And as for her credit card, it cannot bode well for society that a company was actually willing to approve her. The interest rate must be exorbitant. ]

For many purposes, shops that accept credit also have a greater selection. For others, I've found the most striking difference with food. Many of the finest restaurants are not yet able to accept credit.

[ By finest, he means quality and a number of other attributes, rather than price or the decor. Other than for food and alcohol, he doesn't really do much shopping, so might as well just go to the shops that take credit. ]

Where is it that you're finding these bills?

[ They aren't small bills -- could it be that one person had really lost Β₯15,000? ]

[ Either despite her "JK" he continues to take it seriously, or because the horse is already dead, so he might as well instruct her how to beat it properly -- ]

No, they aren't interested in chump change.

[ For the individual and their wallet, Β₯15,000 is significant. To a salaryman moving amounts many times the multiple of that... really, obscene shit. ]

Hole-in-the-wall doesn't necessarily mean shady. Of course, there's plenty of variety in Tokyo. To name a few: Hanasaka Jisan in Shibuya, Gyu-No-Chikara by Ueno station, and Izakaya Juban in Minato.

[ Nanami's interested in food. Conversely, he doesn't care for suspense. ]

Don't ask questions with obvious answers.

[ If only it was only the rich that suffered... ]

I recommend you space them out, rather than trying to fit them all in one outing.

[ How could one truly savor each if cramming all into a few hours? ]

I'm no longer a salaryman, though I'm not interested.

[ That is, it's not because it's chump change. And she should really choose her words more carefully. If he decides to intervene (unlikely though that decision may be), he wouldn't necessarily need to go himself. ]

You have my word.

Nice catch.

[ It isn't technically praise to acknowledge that she'd only just covered up that loophole? ]

Fine.

[ He doesn't really care, and if someone's careless enough to lose bills of that size, unless she's actively stealing, that's their problem and responsibility. ]

[ ... Why did he ask? What did he expect to do with this information? (In fact, he'd expected this: if it was obvious from her answer who was losing their money, send them a message suggesting that they be more careful, without telling them why or where or anything further.) What does he do with it now? It does make sense, now, why she expected someone in her contacts to have misplaced the bill. If no one replied, she was legitimized in keeping it. Despite having initially proclaimed her intention to keep it, presumably if someone like Maki had laid claim, Kugisaki would have forfeited it. But anyone to whom Kugisaki would return it wasn't the sort of person to leave money lying around.

If not a large tip for Fushiguro's chore, it could have been yen left out to pay for delivery of some kind... teenagers could probably eat Β₯10,000 of delivery...

Anyway, this is far more thought than he ever wanted to expend on this topic. ]

No, please don't tell me. That's enough.
